The original Night of the Living Dead for me... not only is it a classic, but it relied less on the gore and special effects and more on the tense drama created by such a mix of people. The angst, paranoia and tragic denial of the people when their friends and family turn from what they once loved into monsters is more moving than any blood capsules in my book.
ReplyDelete"They're coming to get you, Baaarbaraaa...."
I have to say Night of the Living Dead because it is classic - Shawn of the Dead because it is funny and The walking dead TV series because it is just AWESOME
ReplyDeleteI like "I Am Legend".

I enjoyed "Fido" because it wasn't your run-of-the-mill zombie movie. Shaun of the Dead is a close second.
ReplyDeleteOmega Man--scary and Charleton heston--can't ask for more
ReplyDeleteI'd have to say original Dawn of the Dead. Great monster movie that also comments on 'Merica's rampant consumer culture. Plus, you get to see Tom Savini pull out his own innards. Classic!
ReplyDeleteI actually prefer the remake of Night of the Living Dead to the original. Luckily both are Romero's babies so I'm not that horrible of a person :)
ReplyDeleteRay
Shaun of the Dead (followed closely by Zombieland). I love the camp feel of the films.
ReplyDeleteShaun of the Dead (followed closely by Fido and Zombieland. I love scary films as much as the next person, but I really love the camp feel of the film.
ReplyDeleteShaun here as well probably. Brain Dead is great for its prequel-to-LOTR geneaology. :)
ReplyDelete"I am Legend" (I know, they technically 'dark seekers' but, let's face it, they're zombies.
ReplyDeleteThere's a moment early in that movie when the main character first goes into a building, and you first glimpse a group of the zombies standing huddled in a room as he walks past it. They shift just subtly as the camera passes, and you know something ain't right. One of the best tone-setting moments in the genre.
I would say Shaun of the Dead.
ReplyDelete'I Am Legend' - it was the right mix of touching story and science fiction and thriller... plus it makes you think.
ReplyDeleteReturn of the living dead! Perfect balance of camp, cheesy gore, comedy, and gratuitous nudity! Also the Tar Man is possibly the coolest zombie ever made. This movie is the "Rocky Horror" of zombie flicks.
ReplyDeleteI've always been a fan of the resident evils. Land of the dead was really good
ReplyDeleteThe Evil Dead started it all for me when I was a teenager. More recently, I have to give a nod to Zombieland!
ReplyDeleteShaun of the Dead
ReplyDeleteOh man, Shaun of the Dead is the best. Now I have to see it again :-D
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is Shock Waves, probably because I'm a huge Peter Cushing fan. I'm really looking forward to taking my daughter and grand kids to see this one! Thanks for such an awesome giveaway.

I liked Dawn of the Dead (the newer one).

I love "I Am Legend" but soon my favorite zombie movie is gonna be ParaNorman!
ReplyDeletesamham144@gmail.com
"by the power of Greyskull" I have to say Shaun of the Dead. Followed by Zombieland.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite zombie movie has to be Zombieland!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite zombie movie would be a toss-up between Dead Snow and Romero's Day of the Dead.
ReplyDeleteBub is a fantastic zombie. I love the scientist and military conflict, and the underground setting makes for a creepy, claustrophobic atmosphere.

As cheesy as it might be at times -- dawn of the dead !!! :)
ReplyDeleteShaun of the Dead. Does it get any better than British humor?
ReplyDeleteDawn of the dead!
ReplyDeleteSo great, a classic!

Zombieland, Dawn of the Dead, or 28 Days
ReplyDelete"I am Legend"...Will Smith was awesome and I thought it was even better than the book.
