Announcing Sith Heads - A Star Wars: The Old Republic Podcast (SWTOR)
I'm thrilled to announce that I'm co-hosting the new Sith Heads podcast! This weekly show will cover anything and everything in the new Bioware MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic aka SWTOR. My co-host, Michael Gaines, has been a part of the World of Warcast podcast for years and now his love of Star Wars has sent him down another podcasting path. He's got loads of MMO experience, and I'm the noob that keeps walking into walls because I haven't quite mastered the controls yet. Together, we bring you two different points of view, with a common theme... a love of Star Wars and a passion for gaming!

Essential Geek Quotes: "We're All Fine Here..."
![]() |
| Aren't you a little short for a Stormtrooper? |
If you don't know how to fill in the rest of that quote, shame on you. Yes, I'm being horribly judgmental but I am an avowed Star Wars fan and that quote is one of the biggies. It's right up there with "Use the Force, Luke!" and "I've got a very bad feeling about this." I think it's fair to say that having at least a few Star Wars quotes in your repertoire of witty comebacks is a geek essential.

Star Wars: The Old Republic, The MMO You're Looking For
You might call me a Star Wars fan. You'd be right. Of all the franchises out there, this is the one that stole my heart first and never let it go. I was seven when I saw the movie in theaters and it single-handedly ignited my love for the genre.

The D6 Generation Podcast #93 Fandom Feuds
It's a war that's been waged for years. Star Wars vs. Star Trek. Most of us long ago took sides but there is a much greater threat in the universe and the amazing George Takei has made it his mission to refocus sci-fi fans to point our phasers, blasters and proton torpedoes in one united direction. It involves taking out sparkly vampires and this makes me very, very happy. Download the episode and head to the 2hr 3min mark to her the Total Fan Girl segment of the show.

Best Christmas Specials, Ever.
I love all the classic holiday stuff you see on television each December. Even though I have most of my favorites on DVD there's something special about seeing them when they're actually being aired. It doesn't count if you record them or stream them later. I'm talking about the random channel surfing that suddenly turns up one of your favorites, as if the network aired it just for you. I tend to obsess over the things that make me happy and one of my biggest obsessions is Christmas specials.

The Princess Saves Herself in Princeless
Behold, a beautiful princess is trapped in a tower guarded by a fierce dragon and only the bravest knight in the land can save her from her terrible fate. Oh, woe is the helpless maiden! Yeah, that's not this story.
This comic, which is the first in a series of four, is all about a maiden who is trapped in a tower, but is completely done with it all. Her parents put her up there in the hopes that a strong, young prince would happen along and save her, thus providing the kingdom with a worthy heir. But our heroine, Princess Adrienne, needs no rescuing and has other ideas about how royalty should treat their children. The story and whimsical style will appeal to both adults and kids and Princess Adrienne's trusty dragon will have everyone longing for one of their own.
The GeekMoms Podcast #10: Science Fairs
The season of the school science fair is fast approaching. How do you pick a project? How much should you help your kids? And when do you put on the brakes and keep them from accidentally blowing up the neighborhood? I'm joined by fellow GeekMoms and science aficionados Patricia Vollmer and Helene McLaughlin to help guide you, and your child, in the right direction.
