Friday is National Donut Day!

On Christmas there are presents and parties.  On Halloween you get to cosplay without people looking at you funny in the grocery store.  But this Friday, June 3rd, is National Donut Day and you get to eat free donuts!  It may not be big enough to make banks close or generate parades along main street, but you and I both know that it's still one of the best holidays ever.  The Salvation Army created this day way back in 1938 as a fundraiser and to honor women who handed out donuts to soldiers during World War I.  If you look at it that way, then it's your patriotic duty to consume at least one donut tomorrow. You can get your free donut at participating Krispy Kreme shops or at Dunkin Donuts when you purchase a beverage.  Local shops celebrate the holiday, too so be sure to check yours and see what they're offering for the day.  I'm thinking if I time things very carefully and drive just the right route that I can have free donuts for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Aw, come on you know you want to see if it can be done.  Who's with me?
