Serious Fun: New Year's Eve Charity Gameathon

Back in October I took part in the Extra Life 24 hour game marathon to raise funds for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.  It was wonderful taking part and helping Extra Life raise record amounts of money this year.  Shortly afterwards, I was contacted by a gamer named Kevin who, inspired by the Extra Life event, had gotten together with gamers in his community to create their own event.  This New Year's Eve they are running Serious Fun, a gameathon to raise funds for Lamb's Fold Center for Women and Children in Joliet, Illinois.  They're not getting the same kind of national press that bigger events receive, but they've put an incredible amount of work into creating an event to help people in their community.  There is even support from local businesses and game companies, including prizes from the likes of Days of Wonder, Privateer Press and Fantasy Flight Games.  Please consider helping Serious Fun help those in need by making a donation and proving that Gamers can make a difference!
