The Way to a Geek's Heart.....

I was  busy little Domestic Geek Goddess today because I am now the proud owner of a set of Star Wars pancake molds and cookie cutters.  These have been out for awhile now but I only managed to get my hands on them yesterday.  So, today I spent the day cranking out cookies in the afternoon and flipping pancakes for dinner.  Breakfast for dinner is aways a Win, but when the pancakes are Yoda, Vader and a Stormtrooper it becomes truly Epic.

As I was happily filling my kitchen with power of The Force, I was also busy telling everyone.  I was having so much fun making little Darth Vaders covered with shiny sugar crystals that I couldn't just keep it all to myself.  Seriously, bake a couple dozen cookies with pictures of your favorite characters on them and you will smile.  And judging by the reactions I got when I told people, it made everyone else smile, too.  This got me thinking about how food is one of those things that makes Geeks really happy.

We all enjoy a good meal, but for a Geek all it takes is a pancake with Yoda's smiling mug on it and we're good.  You don't like pancakes?  Other than the fact that you may be a Replicant, no problem.  Over at GeekyCookies.com you'll find Geek treats made to look like Pac-Man, Star Trek Communicators and even Codex's Staff.  It doesn't even take actual food to make us happy.  How about Space Invaders Ice Cubes Trays so you can chill your drinks while you play games you couldn't even have imagined way back when Space Invaders was your favorite game.

And there is, of course, the Holy Grail of Geek foods, Bacon.  You all just went Mmmmmmm, didn't you? This is one of those foods everyone likes (if not, again, Replicant) but Geeks have taken it to a whole new level.  There's Bacon Salt, Baconnaise and Bacon Popcorn.  We've Baconized just about every food you can imagine, for better or worse. There's even a Geek word for food, "nom", and when we think something is tasty it's "om nom nom".  I  don't know if there's any truth to the saying that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, but I'd say it definitely holds true for Geeks.

@girlsaregeeks You know, I almost bought that cookbook years ago and wish that I had it now for the kids.

@adantejada First, OMG that is awesome! Second, it's interesting that you bought this "for your son". Methinks it went more like this "Gee, I'm an adult I shouldn't buy this craziness, but if I buy it for my son and just try a bit, then I'm good. Yup, that'll work!"
